Abstract:
From 26 to 29 June 2024 more than 60 participants attended the conference “Mission: The Meaning of Words. Obsolescence, Innovations and Mutations in the Terms of Mission”, held at the Institut Protestant de Théologie and the Service protestant de mission – DEFAP in Paris.
The conference was held to mark the 30th anniversary of AFOM (Association francophone œcuménique de missiologie) and was jointly organised by the Institut d’Histoire des Missions of the Institut Catholique de Paris and the Centre Maurice Leenhardt of the Institut Protestant de Théologie. Around twenty papers by Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox speakers from Europe, America, Africa and Asia offered a huge occasion for raising intensive debates on the semantic evolution of mission-related terms.
