The worldwide spread of secularization has one advantage: it reminds us that something, or someone, is missing. Our constitution, our anthropology as human beings, is inherently dialogical. While the separation of church and state was an excellent idea to prevent the church from instrumentalizing the state, it has led the state to contribute to the collapse of the Christian hierarchy of values in Western Europe. This exclusive ethos of citizenship has proven to be a moral disaster. What can be done now that this collapse has already occurred? This presentation will explore the pressing dilemmas of our times, speaking from the heart and focusing on the missing element.
